Episode 10  Are you Afraid To Launch Your Product Or Service?

One of the scariest things you can do is put yourself out there. What if people don’t buy what you have to sell or worse what if People HATE it or YOU! These are the thoughts that keep us stuck playing small or not launching at all & today I want to break down the barriers that are holding you back so that you can start thriving!

Today’s episode is something that is so critical for your success because today we are talking about what is holding you back from launching your next product. Maybe you have launched something before and you crashed and burned or maybe you have come so close to the finish line but you have never pulled the trigger.

Either way, today’s episode is going to help you find the confidence in yourself to put yourself out there or keep putting yourself out there no matter what happens!

I know what it’s like to hide, I think I actually mastered it LOL. I would hide behind jobs that I was overqualified for because it felt safe. I was afraid of the spotlight so I played small for so many years. I wasn’t always like that. I created a multi-million dollar company in my twenties playing HUGE but lost it all before I was 30 which kept me playing small for years after.

So trust me when I say I know what it is like to have scars and to want to stay in what you think is a safe place. I also know I was meant for more. If you have that little voice in your head telling you the same thing it’s time to listen!

So how do you get over the fear of failure before you even begin?

Well for me I need to go there…

What if no one buys does that mean I am a total failure? No not really it means I either didn’t have the right person to see my offer or my offer wasn’t good enough to get them to buy. It really has nothing to do with me…. I need to look at everything again and make changes.

What if people HATE it or me. Do you think people will really hate you? Let’s say they do… is that really an issue about you or them? One of my favorite quotes is your opinion of me is none of my business. What other people issues with you are about them and not you.

Now let’s talk about what if people hate your product or service. First, is it just one person or many? If it is one or two that is totally normal you won’t be for everyone and that is ok. If you are seeing a big number you need to take a step back and figure out how you can fix it. What can you do to make this a better experience for them?

Putting yourself out there is uncomfortable but extremely rewarding. It’s so easy to think of all the million reasons why you shouldn’t do it. But if you go there and let your worst-case scenarios play out in your head and you figure your way through them they no longer have power over you.

The truth is most people aren’t afraid of failure they are really afraid of success and they don’t even know it! It’s so unfamiliar and scary and your brain likes to keep you safe and protected.

So how do you start believing in yourself?

For me, it has been finding those thoughts that have been making me second guess myself or keeping me feeling like I can’t and talking myself through them with all the reasons why I can. More importantly, having faith in myself. Knowing it’s not a matter of if but when.

One of my favorite stories is the bamboo one. I heard it years ago at a personal development seminar and it has stuck with me.

There is a man who is outside planting some bamboo and his neighbor comes up and asks him what he is planting. The guy says Bamboo, it takes a while but it will come…

The man who planted it goes out every day and waters it, after a year the neighbor says to him “I don’t think that’s going to grow” But he still goes and waters it every day

3 years go by and he is out watering and the neighbor says I can’t believe you are wasting all this water, nothing is going to happen.

The man continues to water daily because he knows it will come.

One day around year 5 or so he is out watering and the neighbor comes and tells him he is crazy.

The next day to everyone’s surprise the bamboo shot up 7 feet overnight and the neighbor came over to apologize for all the years of coming over to bother the man.

The man replied I knew it was going to come, I didn’t know when but I knew as long as I watered it daily it would eventually come.

So whenever I have days where I question myself or if I feel like my numbers aren’t where I want them to be. I think of the bamboo story because I know every action I am taking is like watering the bamboo

And it’s all the watering that nourishes the explosive growth that feels like it is overnight but in reality, it has been years in the making.

Don’t you just love that story!!!

So if you are feeling like you are not sure if you are ready to launch your first or next thing realize this is all part of your journey.

It’s not the destination that counts, it’s the journey. Enjoy your journey…. Embrace every part of it. No matter what happens you can deal with it.

And remember it’s not a matter of IF it happens it’s a matter of WHEN!
